A SOLSTICE SYNCHRONICITY
A couple of weeks before Christmas I had a sense of boredom. Not a big urrghhh I need to change my life kind of boredom, just a low level... oh there used to be dancing and getting dressed up and events to look forward to and now there's not. Maybe we've all been feeling a bit of that in 2020 and 2021. There's just been so much less happening. Anyway it brought me to the awareness that I wanted more joy. When I sat with that, I realised that more joy requires two things... 1

A NEW ALTAR
This altar has been a long time in the creation! Normally I create a new altar for each Wheel of the Year festival... intuitively gathering items from around my home and from nature, to create something of beauty - an offering if you will. Every six weeks I dismantle the last festival's altar and allow the new one to come forth. But I was away at the Solstice, then caught up in Christmas, socialising between Christmas and New Year and away again at New Year.... So this is m

A CEREMONY FOR THE LOVE OF THE EARTH
I had the most gorgeous day on Sunday hosting a Ceremony for the Love of the Earth with my One Spirit Minister sister Revd. Suzanne Dance. It was our offering for Skye's Climate Fèis http://www.climatefeis.org ... a festival focused on climate action, a fringe event of COP26 which will be in Glasgow in November. We sat with the grief of the climate crisis... listened to a message from water... had a conversation with nature... reflected on our place in the Universe... and he

WEDNESDAY
A day in the life of an interfaith minister... Interfaith ministry isn't just about about being a celebrant. These posts aim to paint a picture of how my ministry permeates all of my life... For the people who've learnt to meditate with me I offer a 'Motivated to Meditate Club'... perhaps for those who've had a regular practice but have fallen out of it and wish to put more focus on meditation knowing the benefits it brings... or perhaps for those who learnt years ago, but

SUNDAY
A day in the life of an interfaith minister... Interfaith ministry isn't just about about being a celebrant. These posts aim to paint a picture of how my ministry permeates all of my life... Sunday is often a busy day for me... how do you think I spend it? Maybe you're envisaging trips to church or online services... I am a 'minister' after all! But for me spirituality isn't connected to religion. I may talk about God (if people are comfortable with the word), but that mean

MONDAY
A day in the life of an interfaith minister... So many people I speak to about interfaith ministry see it as ceremony work... marking transitions, particularly marriage and death, but it feels so much more than that. I feel it permeates so much of my life so I've decided to write some 'day in the life of' posts to see if I can paint a picture... So, today started, like most days, with putting on my ruby ring and speaking aloud the vow I took at ordination last July and thus

IMBOLC DOLL
Loved the honouring of Imbolc and Brigid at a ceremony I held tonight with a dear friend... We journeyed with Brigid the Goddess and Brigid the Saint. Here's an imbolc doll I made earlier today from twigs and moss and sheep's wool and yarn and fabric. She has a wee sack to carry my seeds of intention into the Spring. #imbolc #ceremony #doll #altar
